Set Up IPTV On VIDAA Smart TV

For Hisense and other TVs running VIDAA. Install Hot Player from the VIDAA app store, then add your IPTVV login on the Hot Player website using the code your TV shows.

Setting up IPTV on a VIDAA TV takes about 7 minutes: install Hot Player from the VIDAA app store, then add the login from your IPTV Canada welcome email on the Hot Player website using the MAC address your TV shows. An IPTV free trial login works exactly the same way.

1. How IPTV Works On A VIDAA TV

IPTV on a VIDAA TV is a player app from the VIDAA app store that streams your channels over the internet with your IPTVV login. VIDAA (on most Hisense and some Toshiba TVs) doesn’t run Android, so its players work a little differently: the app shows your TV’s MAC address, and you add your login on the player’s website from a phone or computer.

Does your Hisense TV have the Google Play Store? Then it runs Google TV, not VIDAA: follow the Android TV guide instead, where the players are free.

2. What You Need Before You Start

You need your IPTVV login, a phone or computer, your TV remote and about 7 minutes.

  • Your IPTVV login: the server URL (it starts with http://), username and password from your welcome email.
  • A phone or computer to finish the setup on the Hot Player website.
  • A TV running VIDAA with Hot Player in its app store.
  • An internet connection of at least 10 Mbps for HD, 15 to 20 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K.

3. Which Player To Use

Hot Player is the player to use on VIDAA: it’s free for 30 days, and after that the app needs its own licence, which is separate from your IPTVV subscription.

Player Price How it’s activated
Hot Player Free for 30 days, then its own licence MAC address on hotplayer.app

On Premium? The Hot IPTV app is included with Premium. Send your TV’s MAC address to our support team and we’ll activate the app and add your playlist for you.

4. Install Hot Player

Install Hot Player from the VIDAA App Store, and only from there.

  1. Press the Home button (or the VIDAA button) on your remote and open the App Store.
  2. Search Hot Player.
  3. Select it and press Install, then open it.
  4. When Hot Player opens, it shows your TV’s MAC address. Write it down or take a photo with your phone.

5. Add Your IPTVV Login On The Hot Player Website

Your login is an Xtream Codes login, and you enter it on hotplayer.app against your TV’s MAC address. Capitals count, and there must be no space before or after.

  1. On your phone or computer, go to hotplayer.app and choose Upload List.
  2. Enter the MAC address from your TV and press Next.
  3. Change the source to Xtream Code.
  4. Fill in a playlist name (any name, such as IPTVV), the server URL as the Host, your username and password, then press Save.

6. Load The TV Guide, Favourites And On-Demand Library

Back on the TV, press Refresh in Hot Player (or close it and open it again) and your channels, TV guide, movies and series load in a minute or two. Then set up the list the way you’ll use it:

  1. Open the live channels, pick a group, then a channel; the guide shows what’s on now and next.
  2. Add the channels you watch most to favourites so they’re one click away.
  3. Open the movies and series sections for the on-demand library.
  4. If the guide is empty while the channels play, press Refresh once more.

7. If Hot Player Isn’t In Your Store

If Hot Player isn’t in your TV’s app store, plug a Fire TV Stick or a Google TV device into a free HDMI port and follow its guide. Your options:

  • A Fire TV Stick or a Google TV device on HDMI: the players there are free and unlock catch-up and on demand. Turn on HDMI-CEC in the TV’s settings so your TV remote controls it.
  • Your phone: iMPlayer (iPhone) or XCIPTV (Android) with the same login, cast to the TV for the evening.

8. Best Picture And Watching On More Than One Screen

Give the TV at least 10 Mbps for HD, 15 to 20 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. For the steadiest stream:

  • Use the TV’s Ethernet port if it has one, or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band.
  • Set the picture mode to Cinema or Filmmaker rather than Vivid for sports and films.
  • Each TV watching at the same time counts as one screen, so pick a plan with enough screens for your home on the IPTV Subscription page.

9. Troubleshooting, Performance And Privacy

The fix for most buffering is to restart the router first, then the TV, and to move to Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Other quick fixes:

  • Nothing loads: check the MAC address on the website character by character, then the username and password (capitals count). The server URL must start with http://.
  • Channels play but the guide is empty: press Refresh in Hot Player.
  • The app stopped working after a month: its free period ended. On Premium, send us your MAC address and we activate it; on Standard, the app’s own licence applies.
  • Buffering only in the evening: your internet provider may be slowing video traffic. VIDAA TVs can’t run a VPN app, so the VPN goes on your router; see our VPN for IPTV guide.
  • Still stuck? Contact our support team: we answer 24/7 in English or French.

IPTV is a legal technology in Canada when it’s used with licensed content, and the Copyright Act applies to what you stream, so the player is never the risk: the source of the channels is. Only install IPTV apps from the VIDAA App Store, never from another source, and keep your login to the screens on your plan. Your IPTVV subscription is paid once in CAD, never renews on its own, and is covered by a 7-day money-back guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does IPTV work on Hisense TVs?

Yes. Hisense TVs with VIDAA use Hot Player from the VIDAA App Store, and Hisense TVs with Google TV use the free Android players from the Play Store. Check which store your TV has and follow the matching guide.

Is Hot Player free on VIDAA?

Yes, for 30 days. After that the app needs its own licence, which is separate from your IPTVV subscription and included with the Premium plan.

Do I need a VPN for IPTV on a VIDAA TV?

No. The service works without one. If your internet provider slows video traffic at peak hours, a VPN helps, and on a VIDAA TV it runs on your router rather than on the TV.

Conclusion

Your VIDAA TV is an IPTV screen in about 7 minutes: install Hot Player from the App Store, note the MAC address it shows, add your Xtream Codes login on hotplayer.app and press Refresh. Keep the TV on Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, add your favourites on day one, and if Hot Player isn’t in your store, a Fire TV Stick in a free HDMI port solves it. Still stuck on a step?
