Set Up IPTV On Fire TV And Fire Stick
Works on every Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max, and Fire TV Cube. You install a free player with the Downloader app, then sign in with the login from your IPTVV email.

Setting up IPTV on a Fire TV Stick takes about 10 minutes: install a free player with the Downloader app, then sign in with the login from your IPTV Canada welcome email. An IPTV free trial login works exactly the same way.
1. How IPTV Works On Fire TV
IPTV on a Fire TV is a player app that streams your channels over the internet with your IPTVV login, so there is no cable box and no installer. Fire OS is Amazon’s version of Android, and the best IPTV players aren’t in the Amazon Appstore, so you install them with a free app called Downloader. Once the player is in, your login is all it needs: live channels, the TV guide, catch-up and the on-demand library all load from it.
2. What You Need Before You Start
You need your IPTVV login, your Fire TV remote and about 10 minutes.
- Your IPTVV login: the server URL (it starts with
http://), username and password from your welcome email. - A Fire TV with Fire OS: Fire TV Stick, Stick 4K, Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Cube or a Fire TV edition television.
- An internet connection of at least 10 Mbps for HD, 15 to 20 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K.
Newer Fire TV with Vega OS? Models like the Fire TV Stick 4K Select can only install apps from the Amazon Appstore, so these players won’t install. Contact us and we’ll find the best option for your model.
3. Which Player To Use
OTT Navigator is the player to pick if you’re not sure: it’s free and unlocks live TV, movies, series and catch-up. You can switch players later in two minutes with the same login.
| Player | Price | Movies and series | Downloader code |
|---|---|---|---|
| OTT Navigator (recommended) | Free | Unlocked | 982469 |
| TiviMate | Free, Premium extra | Need TiviMate Premium | 272483 |
| iMPlayer | Free, Premium extra | Unlocked | 82375 |
| IPTV Smarters Pro | Free | Unlocked | Download link from the app maker’s website |
All four connect with the Xtream Codes login (your server URL, username and password). None of them needs an M3U link.
4. Install Downloader And Your Player
Install the Downloader app first, allow it to install apps, then type your player’s code into it. Skip the first list if you already have Downloader (the orange app with a white D).
Install Downloader
- From the home screen, go to Find (or the magnifying glass) and search Downloader.
- Select Downloader by AFTVnews and press Download (or Get).
- When it’s installed, press Home.
Allow Downloader to install apps
- Open Settings (the gear), then My Fire TV.
- Open About and click your device name (Fire TV Stick) 7 times, until a message says you’re a developer.
- Go back, open Developer Options, then Install Unknown Apps.
- Turn Downloader to On.
- Open Downloader and press Allow, then OK.
Install the player
- Open Downloader and click the box at the top.
- Type your player’s code from the table above (
982469for OTT Navigator) and press Go or Load. For IPTV Smarters Pro, type the Android download link from the app maker’s website (whmcssmarters.com) instead of a code. - Wait for the download, then press Install, then Open.
- Back in Downloader, press Delete to remove the installation file and free up space.
5. Sign In With Your IPTVV Login
Your login is an Xtream Codes login: choose that option in the player, then type the server URL, username and password. Capitals count, and there must be no space before or after.
OTT Navigator
- Choose Xtream Codes (not Playlist).
- Type the server URL in the URL address box, then your username and password. Leave the API version on v2.
- Press Apply. When you see Setting applied successfully, press Close.
TiviMate
- Press Accept, then Add playlist, then Xtream Codes.
- Enter the server address, username and password, then press Next.
- Wait a moment, then press Next and Done. Live TV and the TV guide work for free; movies, series and catch-up need TiviMate Premium, which is sold by TiviMate and is not part of your IPTVV subscription.
iMPlayer
- Press Add Playlist and choose XC API.
- Enter the server URL as the Portal URL, then your username and password. Any name works for the playlist. Press Add.
- Wait a few minutes the first time, then press OK through the tips.
Tip: on iMPlayer’s Add a New Playlist screen you can scan the QR code with your phone and type your login there instead of with the remote.
IPTV Smarters Pro
- Open the app and accept the terms.
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter any name, your username, your password and the server URL, then press Add User.
- Wait while the channels load, then open Live TV.
6. Load The TV Guide, Favourites And On-Demand Library
The TV guide loads on its own with the Xtream Codes login: open TV Guide (or EPG) from the player’s menu to see what’s on now and next. Then set up the list the way you’ll use it:
- Open Live TV (or Live stream), pick a group on the left, then a channel.
- Highlight a channel you watch often, hold Select and choose Add to favourites. Do this for your five or six regulars on day one.
- Open Movies and Series for the on-demand library; the search box is quicker than scrolling.
- In OTT Navigator, keep our channel order (VIP, Canada and US first): go to Settings, then Lists settings, then Select sort order, and set both Sort categories by and Sort channels by to order from provider playlist.
7. If The Player Won’t Install
If Downloader can’t install the player, your Fire TV most likely runs Vega OS, and the fix is a different device on the same TV. Your options:
- Contact support with your Fire TV model and we’ll point you to the best player for it.
- Use a Google TV device or an Android TV box in a free HDMI port, where the players install from the Play Store (see the Android TV and Chromecast guides).
- Play on your phone with iMPlayer (iPhone) or XCIPTV (Android) and mirror it to the TV for the evening.
8. Best Picture And Watching On More Than One Screen
Give the Fire TV at least 10 Mbps for HD, 15 to 20 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K, and the picture stays sharp through overtime. For the steadiest stream:
- Put the Fire TV on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, or add an Ethernet adapter (the Fire TV Cube has a port built in).
- Close apps you’re not using: hold Home and pick Settings, Applications, Manage installed applications, Force stop.
- For 4K channels (included with Premium) use a Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max or Cube.
- Each TV watching at the same time counts as one screen, so pick a plan with enough screens for your home on the IPTV Subscription page.
9. Troubleshooting, Performance And Privacy
The fix for most buffering is to unplug the router for 30 seconds, plug it back in first, then restart the Fire TV. Other quick fixes:
- “Invalid login” or nothing loads: check your username and password letter by letter, make sure the server URL starts with
http://, and remove any space at the start or end. - Sound ahead of the picture: in the player’s settings, switch the decoder from hardware to software (or back).
- The player feels slow: clear its cache in Settings, Applications, Manage installed applications, then the player, Clear cache.
- Buffering only in the evening: your internet provider may be slowing video traffic. A VPN set to a Canadian server helps; see our VPN for IPTV guide.
- Still stuck? Contact our support team: we answer 24/7 in English or French.
10. Legal And Practical Notes For Canada
IPTV is a legal technology in Canada when it’s used with licensed content, and the Copyright Act applies to what you stream, so the player is never the risk: the source of the channels is. Install players only with the codes in this guide, skip any app that arrives “pre-loaded” with channels, and keep your login to the screens on your plan. Your IPTVV subscription is paid once in CAD for the term you choose, never renews on its own, and is covered by a 7-day money-back guarantee.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does IPTV work on every Fire TV Stick?
Yes, on every Fire TV that runs Fire OS, which includes the Fire TV Stick, Stick 4K, 4K Max, Cube and Fire TV edition televisions. The only exception is the newer Vega OS models such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, which can’t sideload apps.
Do I need a VPN for IPTV on Fire TV?
No. The service works without one. A VPN is useful if your internet provider slows video traffic at peak hours, or for privacy on a shared network.
Which Fire TV IPTV app has the best TV guide?
TiviMate has the best-looking guide, but its movies, series and catch-up need the paid TiviMate Premium. OTT Navigator gives you a full guide, catch-up and on demand for free, which is why it’s our first pick.
Conclusion
Your Fire TV is an IPTV box in about 10 minutes: install Downloader, allow it to install apps, type the player’s code, then sign in with your Xtream Codes login. Keep the Fire TV on 5 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet, add your favourite channels on day one, and if a player ever misbehaves, install a second one with the same login. Still stuck on a step?
