Set Up IPTV On Samsung Smart TV

For Samsung smart TVs (Tizen). Install a player from the TV's app store, then add your IPTVV login on the player's website using the code your TV shows.

Setting up IPTV on a Samsung smart TV takes about 7 minutes: install Hot Player or IBO Player from the TV’s app store, then add the login from your IPTV Canada welcome email on the player’s website using the code your TV shows. An IPTV free trial login works exactly the same way.

1. How IPTV Works On A Samsung TV

IPTV on a Samsung TV is a player app from the Samsung Apps store that streams your channels over the internet with your IPTVV login. Samsung TVs run Tizen rather than Android, so their players work a little differently: the app shows your TV’s MAC address, and you add your login on the player’s website from a phone or computer instead of typing it on the TV.

2. What You Need Before You Start

You need your IPTVV login, a phone or computer, your Samsung remote and about 7 minutes.

  • Your IPTVV login: the server URL (it starts with http://), username and password from your welcome email.
  • A phone or computer to finish the setup on the player’s website.
  • A Samsung smart TV recent enough to have the player in its app store (most models from the last several years).
  • An internet connection of at least 10 Mbps for HD, 15 to 20 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K.

3. Which Player To Use

Hot Player is the player to install; IBO Player works the same way and is the alternative. Both are activated with your TV’s MAC address.

Player Price How it’s activated
Hot Player (recommended) Free for 30 days, then its own licence MAC address on hotplayer.app
IBO Player Free period, then its own licence MAC address and device key on iboplayer.com
IPTV Smarters Pro Free Signs in on the TV with your Xtream Codes login, no website step

On Premium? The Hot IPTV and IBO Player apps are included with Premium. Send the code your TV shows (the MAC address, plus the device key for IBO Player) to our support team and we’ll activate the app and add your playlist for you. On Standard, the app’s own licence terms apply after its free period; your IPTVV subscription is never affected.

4. Install The Player

Install Hot Player (or IBO Player) from the Samsung Apps store, and only from there.

  1. Press Home on your Samsung remote and open Apps.
  2. Select the search icon and type Hot Player (or IBO Player, or IPTV Smarters Pro).
  3. Select the app and press Install, then Open.
  4. When the app opens, it shows your TV’s MAC address (IBO Player also shows a device key). Write it down or take a photo with your phone. IPTV Smarters Pro skips this step: it asks for your login on the TV.

5. Add Your IPTVV Login On The Player’s Website

Your login is an Xtream Codes login, and you enter it on the player’s website against your TV’s MAC address. Capitals count, and there must be no space before or after.

Hot Player

  1. On your phone or computer, go to hotplayer.app and choose Upload List.
  2. Enter the MAC address from your TV and press Next.
  3. Change the source to Xtream Code.
  4. Fill in a playlist name (any name, such as IPTVV), the server URL as the Host, your username and password, then press Save.

IBO Player

  1. Go to iboplayer.com and open the page to manage your playlist.
  2. Enter the MAC address exactly as shown, with its colons, and the device key, then sign in.
  3. Choose Add playlist, select the Xtream Codes option and enter the server URL, username and password. Save.

IPTV Smarters Pro (no website step)

  1. Open the app on the TV and accept the terms.
  2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
  3. Enter any name, your username, your password and the server URL with the remote, then select Add User.
  4. Wait while the channels load, then open Live TV.

6. Load The TV Guide, Favourites And On-Demand Library

Back on the TV, press Refresh in the app (or close it and open it again) and your channels, TV guide, movies and series load in a minute or two. Then set up the list the way you’ll use it:

  1. Open the live channels, pick a group, then a channel; the guide shows what’s on now and next.
  2. Add the channels you watch most to favourites so they’re one click away with the Samsung remote.
  3. Open the movies and series sections for the on-demand library.
  4. If the guide is empty while the channels play, press Refresh in the app once more.

7. If The Player Isn’t In Your TV’s Store

If Hot Player and IBO Player aren’t in your TV’s app store, the TV is too old for them, and the reliable fix is a streaming stick in a free HDMI port. Your options:

  • A Fire TV Stick or a Google TV device on HDMI: follow the Fire TV or Android TV guide, where the players are free. Turn on Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) in the TV’s settings so your Samsung remote controls it.
  • Your phone: iMPlayer (iPhone) or XCIPTV (Android) with the same login, cast to the TV for the evening.

8. Best Picture And Watching On More Than One Screen

Give the TV at least 10 Mbps for HD, 15 to 20 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. For the steadiest stream:

  • Use the TV’s Ethernet port if you can, or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band.
  • Set the picture mode to Movie or Filmmaker rather than Dynamic for sports and films.
  • Each TV watching at the same time counts as one screen, so pick a plan with enough screens for your home on the IPTV Subscription page.

9. Troubleshooting, Performance And Privacy

The fix for most buffering is to restart the router first, then the TV, and to move to Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Other quick fixes:

  • Nothing loads: check the MAC address on the website character by character, then the username and password (capitals count). The server URL must start with http://.
  • Channels play but the guide is empty: press Refresh in the app.
  • The app stopped working after a month: its free period ended. On Premium, send us your MAC address and we activate it; on Standard, the app’s own licence applies.
  • Buffering only in the evening: your internet provider may be slowing video traffic. Samsung TVs can’t run a VPN app, so the VPN goes on your router; see our VPN for IPTV guide.
  • Still stuck? Contact our support team: we answer 24/7 in English or French.

IPTV is a legal technology in Canada when it’s used with licensed content, and the Copyright Act applies to what you stream, so the player is never the risk: the source of the channels is. Only install IPTV apps from the Samsung Apps store, never from another source, and keep your login to the screens on your plan. Your IPTVV subscription is paid once in CAD, never renews on its own, and is covered by a 7-day money-back guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does IPTV work on every Samsung smart TV?

Yes, on every Samsung TV whose app store has Hot Player or IBO Player, which covers most models from the last several years. On an older TV, a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device in a free HDMI port is the fix.

Is Hot Player free on Samsung TVs?

Yes, for 30 days. After that the app needs its own licence, which is separate from your IPTVV subscription and included with the Premium plan.

Do I need a VPN for IPTV on a Samsung TV?

No. The service works without one. If your internet provider slows video traffic at peak hours, a VPN helps, and on a Samsung TV it runs on your router rather than on the TV.

Conclusion

Your Samsung TV is an IPTV screen in about 7 minutes: install Hot Player from the Apps store, note the MAC address it shows, add your Xtream Codes login on hotplayer.app and press Refresh. Keep the TV on Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, add your favourites on day one, and if your model is too old for the app, a Fire TV Stick in a free HDMI port solves it. Still stuck on a step?
